The Campus

  • Located in Hamilton, Ontario, about a 45-minute drive from Toronto, Niagara Falls and the United States border. The fourth largest city in Ontario and ninth largest city in Canada, Hamilton is a multicultural city and an urban, industrial and artistic centre.

Hundreds of OpenAI’s current and ex-employees are about to get a huge payday by cashing out up to $10 million each in a private stock sale

Just in time for the holidays: Roughly 400 current and former OpenAI employees are set to receive multi-million dollar paydays thanks to a special stock sale the privately-held San Francisco company has arranged with Japan’s SoftBank Group.

The tender offer allows certain OpenAI employees and former staffers to sell their stock to SoftBank at $210 per share, according to a source with knowledge of the matter. The transaction opens an important avenue for insiders to cash out some of the equity they have locked up in the AI company, whose valuation has doubled over the past year to $157 billion.

WILL YOU MISS IT TOO?

It was 1984, I remember it very clearly because everytime our neighbour (a very talented enthusiastic boxer), opened his house. There was a Calender on his Wall facing directly at the entry. The image of the former King of Buganda was positioned above 1984 written in bold black.

I was 3 years at that time, and this year marks 40 years since that time. That's the time I started the habbit of thinking. Now thinking became big and bigger, and the thoughts became convictions.

I recently realised that the reasons why even those that have benefited from thes convictions, were only able to take very tiny bits. I was stuck many years in the future.

I'm currently breaking these convictions into multiple small bits but with exponential impact. When I look back in the last 5 years, since I decided to just keep on running even if no one is following. Those that came out from the masses to follow the lead are continually becoming bigger. I have only encountered a few of them but have never met most ...

If you live on campus, you can register for the meal plan. This gives you access to your college or university cafeteria for all your meals.

Health Insurance

In Canada, each province and territory provide health care to its citizens. As an international student, you need to determine whether your province or territory offers you health insurance.

In provinces where there is no coverage for international students, your school will have medical insurance plans you can purchase. Often, tuition fees for full-time students include insurance which covers dental, vision, prescription drugs and other health services.

Travel health insurance

Your school or travel agent can provide details on travel health insurance.

Travel health insurance is different from basic health insurance. You may need it if you’ll be in Canada for less than one year and you expect to live in different parts of Canada. This may apply to students planning to attend:

  • Language school for 12 or 20 weeks
  • A summer camp language school
  • A co-op program or internship

Entertainment

Think about what you’ll want to spend money on for fun. This could include working out at a gym, going to the movies or eating at restaurants. It’s important to set money aside for relaxing and taking care of yourself.

You can explore many parks, trails and beaches for free. Schools may also host free or discounted events for students, like concerts or festivals.

Transportation

$80 - $156 per month for a transportation pass

Plan for your transportation costs by estimating how much money you’ll need for:

  • Public transit, like buses and subways
  • Bus or train tickets if you want to explore other cities in Canada
  • Plane tickets home to visit your family

Many cities offer student rates for public transportation. If you’re a college or university student, check with your school to see if a transit pass is included in your tuition fees.

Some international students choose to buy a car. If this is something you want to do, plan for the cost of your car, automobile insurance, gasoline, maintenance, repairs and parking. 

Many communities have bike paths in recreational areas and bike lanes on busy streets. Some major cities even offer bike-sharing services, where you can rent a bike for short commutes.

For elementary and high school students, school boards generally provide school buses. In some cities, high school students use public transit to get to school.

Gutenberg began experimenting with his idea around 1440. About a decade later, he was able to create the first printing machine:

Even though it took Johannes Gutenberg almost a decade to accomplish building this machine, when done he was able to reproduce 200 copies of the Bible in three years, which was considered a miraculous achievement back in those days.

Gutenberg transformed the manuscript industry. The more printing presses that were replicated, the more the value of these manuscript jobs depreciated.
